Standard lists are based on an average home. Change any quantity with −/+ or by typing, and add missing items at the bottom.
How do you calculate moving volume?
The volume of an item is length × width × height in metres. A 200 × 90 × 80 cm sofa takes about 1.44 m³. The calculator gives you a standard list for your home size that you can freely change and extend.
Why does the volume increase after packing?
The values in the list are net volumes without packing. Bubble wrap, blankets, film and boxes, plus gaps when loading, usually increase the total by 10–20%. The calculator therefore shows the transport volume including a packing allowance.
The result is an estimate; the exact volume is determined during the free survey with a net m³ measurement.
| Home size | Average volume | Recommended transport |
|---|---|---|
| Studio / student | 8–12 m³ | Part load |
| 1 bedroom | 15–17 m³ | Part load or 20 ft container |
| 2 bedrooms | 25–27 m³ | 20 ft container / shared truck |
| 3 bedrooms | 30–35 m³ | 40 ft container / dedicated truck |
| 4+ bedrooms / house | 45 m³ and more | 40 ft container / full articulated truck |
How many m³ is a one-bedroom flat?
An average furnished one-bedroom flat is around 15–17 m³ including packing.
How many m³ is a two- or three-bedroom home?
A two-bedroom home is typically 25–27 m³ and a three-bedroom home 30–35 m³.
Does packing change the volume?
Yes, by about 10–20%. The calculator shows net and transport volume separately.
Why does the calculator not show a price?
Prices depend on route, date, customs and fuel costs. You receive a written quote after measurement.
